The Sanctuary of Truth is located at Ratchawet Cape, Tambon Naklua of Pattaya City in the area of 24 acres, It was first built in 1981 by Mr. Lek Wiriyaphan, the owner of Muang Boran (the Acient City) in Samut Prakan province.<

The Sanctuary of Truth is wholly made of wood. It is considered one of the distinguished architectures inThailand.

This wooden castle is built in a Chaturamuk style. The top of the stupa (prang) is 105 meter high. The four sides of the face roof are built in Ayutthaya style decorated with Chofa, Bai Raka and Thepphachao (gods). There are also wonderings presenting the story of Ramayana and Mahapharata. The Sanctuary of Truth or the highly carved wooden castle will stand in Pattaya as a memorial to reflect the religious belief, especially in Buddhism, of mankind. Open daily from 08.00 p.m.

The rapid growth of tourism brought about many negative consequences, such as pollution and petty crime. Pattaya is most probably one of the most popular resorts in Thailand. About 140kms south of Bangkok, this city is home to many Beer bars, Open air beers and lots of nightlife entertainment. There are many hotels, guest houses and hostels to choose from that you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to accomodation.

It is very quiet during the day with not much activity, the bars are open but things really don't start to move until after dark and this is when all the action takes place.

Pattaya has a variety of different shopping malls, indoor and outdoor markets. They also have a large selection of tailors who will be happy to make you a suit or dress and have a variety of beautiful fabrics to choose from.

The food here is devine and although I did get sick while I was here, I generally found the food to be very good and extremely tasty. The Thai's have some of the nicest dishes that I have ever tried and it is generally very fresh and well presented.

To get away from the hussle and bussle of this little place for the day, take a boat trip over to one of the nearby Islands for the day. Here you can relax on the beach with beautiful blue green sea, have a lovely lunch and basically 'blob' out for the day.

Another good idea is to go down to Jometein Beach and have a look there, there is the beach and it is another place to do your shopping and see the Nightlife.

Pattaya is a place for the boys. If you want to find girls coming up to you and treating you as if you are a God, this could be the place for you. In saying that it is great place for the ladies too as you can shop to your hearts content and have fun bargaining for whatever takes your fancy. There is so much in the way of 'copied' stuff in Thailand that you may find yourself taking home a few Gucci watches or Louis Vuttion bags!

Open Eyes Show
Pattaya's main attraction is its long curving beach. At the north end, the Dusit Resort occupies a small promontory. Beyond the Dusit is a series of small bays, each with its own hotel. At the southern end, a hill rises and extends well into the sea. At the top of the hill is a temple with a large seated Buddha at the crown. There's a good view of all of Pattaya bay from the temple.

Beyond the hill, south of Pattaya, is Jomtien beach, another long stretch of beach. The beach is slightly deeper than Pattaya, and the section just south of the hill is very popular with Thais. There are many sections here where you can rent a beach chair and order food and drinks from staff serving that section. Numerous vendors also pass by offering fruit, ice cream and many other things, including massages.

At the north end of Jomtien is my favorite beach area in Pattaya, perhaps one of the best in Thailand, for me. The area is known as Dongtan Beach. The beach road here is a pleasant brick path that is closed to cars during the day, so you don't get the street noise that can disturb you at the other beaches. The beach chairs are set high on the beach under umbrellas that are staked so closely together that you never get any direct sun, unless you want to. You can order just about anything you want to eat or drink from the staff, and it will be delivered right to your chair, for which you will only be charged 30 Baht (0.89 USD) for the entire day. The beach is also where you'll find one of Pattaya's few low density accommodations, the Thai-styled Rabbit Resort.

Walking Street

is a famous and vibrant part of the city located in south of Pattaya. It is a location that is well-known to many tourists visiting Thailand , and especially to the male visitors. It is also known as International Meeting Street. Walking Street runs from the Beach Road to the Bali-Hi Pier, and there are entrance arches at either end. The street is traffic-free at night (from 18.00 hours), and car parking is at the Bali-Hi end.There are go-go (dancing girls) bars, beer bars, discotheques, strip pubs, and night clubs. In 2004 the local press reported that there were 30 of the air-conditioned go-go bars on the street (as of February 2008 there are over 50 in the street itself and adjoining sois). The street is also known for the amount of glowing colored neon signage used on and above the street at night. The city's prostitution is concentrated here at night. In the earlier part of the evening one can also find live bands and fine dining. Closing time is usually about 02.00 to 02.45am.

Visitor safety

Although this part of the city is safe, pickpocketing is a common problem, and the bulk of one's money should be concealed. Travellers should follow the same basic safety rules here as they would in any other unfamilar city. Offering the exact change, for anything from a taxi to buying drinks, is always a good idea in order to avoid any misunderstandings. It is also recommended that visitors only visit well-lit venues and venues with a proper and permanent sign showing the venue's name; information can then be given to the tourist police if required. Although some western visitors drink heavily in the bars, this does not usually cause problems.
